Yummy News from Blooming Futures!


We’ve taken the UK’s Early Years Nutrition Guidance AND your little one’s taste buds into account to create a meal that’s both nutritious and delicious — introducing our Smashed New Potatoes!


Perfectly soft, crispy in all the right places, and packed with flavour — this dish is a huge hit with our children!


Why parents love it:

• Made with simple, wholesome ingredients

• Packed with taste (hello, paprika & oregano!)

• Baked, not fried = better for growing bodies


Here’s how we make them at nursery’s:

🥔 750g new potatoes

🫒 3 tbsp olive oil

🌶 1 tsp smoked paprika

🌿 ½ tsp dried oregano

🧂 A pinch of sea salt


1. Preheat fan oven to 220 degrees Celsius

2. Boil new potatoes in salted boiling water until soft enough to pierce with a fork. Drain and allow to air dry

3. Brush oil on the bottom of a large baking tray (alternatively line with baking paper)

4. Whisk together 3tbsp oil, paprika, oregano and salt into a bowl

5. Tip the potatoes on the oiled tray and then crush each potato with the bottom of a glass, so they burst out their skins but retain some of their shape

6.  Brush all over the tops with the flavoured oil

7. Bake for approx 15 minutes (longer if you like them crispy)

8. Enjoy!


The result? Happy tummies and smiling faces all around!
